While working as an artist in residence in the Mercer's Institute for Successful Ageing, in St James's Hospital, Dublin, I made work exploring tea, and the Irish social ritual of ‘Tea and a chat’, as an important line of communication in our culture; a casual, simple, beautiful way of connecting. Through research, interview, photograph, moving image, sound and mark making, I explored the physical medium of tea, as well as its potential to be a vessel for connection. Tea holds an important space in our culture for conversation and connection.
