Lighting and responding to the environment of the exhibition space are the two main concerns when showing this body of work. I use lamps and natural light sources as ways to mimic, and pull the light from the photos into the space, making them feel like moments in the space. The photos are placed around the space in unexpected scenarios, where the viewer will have the sense of finding or happening-upon the work in the space, rather than it being ‘displayed’, or given to them to look at. With the work being embedded within the space in a sense, the encounter is heightened, and the sense of pause I am seeking to photograph in the first instance, is hopefully recreated.
